class rings on non high school students

What is your stance on high school class rings on people not currently in high school?

To me it is so blatantly odd, I wonder, is it some secret indication to others?

I never understood getting the ring in the 1st place. I find wearing any ring (besides engagement/wedding/championship) odd as well. Thus, I think the class ring wearing is kind of pathetic in a way.

Maybe if you didn't go to college...? I never wear either of mine, not even when in college or high school - they were gifts from the GPs, so I had to get them.

I think if someone wears it with a matching dangly cross earring, it's OK.

In years of small town living and observing, I'm accustomed to seeing fat, balding ex-jocks (or their ratted bangs, high-waisted jeans female equivalents) who still wear their letter jackets from the glory days being quarterback senior year ... when they *almost* won conference, or something equally fabulous. But, I've never actually seen them wearing their class rings. This is a new breed of throwback pathetic for me, and I'm anxious to spot a live specimen in the wild.

I will say that I wear my college class ring. I protested getting it, my mother can attest to that but I wear it daily now. Don't know why -- Louisiana pride? Love of LSU & college memories? Memory invoked by my father considering he ALWAYS wore his? I dunno. But I will say it doesn't look like a normal class ring...
